about

Most all of these recordings are single takes, with few edits. They are what I call 'controlled improvisations' though there isn't much controlled about them, other than there is a thematic idea, and I try very much to not direct it to much, but to let it lead me, like a good character for a writer, where it wants to go. While nearly neatly done, there will be moments where the inconsistencies of real playing under these circumstances will produce notes 'outside the lane' what we might call outright blunders. So be it. Then, you are there with me where the one that was leading went around a corner a little too fast and I had to take a couple fast steps, as it were, to get back in view and play along.

Today, August 22, 2022, I am uploading the first piece. I will upload them as I go along, recording when I do, which is a few times a week. Check back from time to time to see more Piano: pieces and whole
